Accessibility
The Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) develops strategies, guidelines and resources to help make the Web accessible to people with disabilities, and to those who wish to access the internet via new technologies such as PDAs and mobile telephones. The WAI set many informative guidelines that are regarded the international standard for website developers to use in order to make their websites fully accessible.
What is Web Accessibility?
Web accessibility means access to the Web by everyone, regardless of disability.

That people with disabilities can gain as much form the Internet as people without disabilities, and that they can contribute to its existence. For more information click here.
Why is it important?
Since it began in the early nineties, the internet has grown into a resource that has increased in importance in many areas, such as, education, government, commerce, health and employment. So it is just as important to ensure that everyone has equal access and equal opportunity to such a wide spread evolving technology. And since the internet is fast becoming a virtual society, it is therefore essential that people with disabilities can also participate. For more information click here.
How can it be done?
Making a website accessible can be a simple or very complex task, depending on how complex the website is amongst many other factors. The accessibility issues for our website were addressed before the design was created, and having followed the WAI’s Implementation Plan for Web Accessibilty we have been able to achieve the AA standard for accessibility.
