Piggotts named as partner at world's largest egg hunt

Piggotts, via its ‘Creative Displays’ division, has been named as a partner in the ‘Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’, the worlds largest egg hunt taking place over 40 days in London this Easter (from 22 February), aiming to raise £2 million for charity.

As part of the partnership, the company, part of the Crown Group, will manufacture, deliver and install tailored plinths for the 200 fibreglass eggs that will be exclusively designed and decorated by some of the world's leading artists.

The eggs, which will be displayed at high profile locations throughout the capital, will be auctioned off alongside a showcase egg, designed by headline sponsor Faberge.

The plinths, designed for external and window display use, will vary in size and shape, with the largest of the stands boasting a half-ton internal weight.

Piggotts will install all 200 eggs at the secret locations across London, and undertake any renovation if needed during the 40 days.

The contract was awarded to Piggotts after the company demonstrated its ability to skilfully manufacture and install bespoke visual displays, most recently at an event for the Hong Kong Tourism Board, where its team designed, developed, manufactured and installed a number of displays to mark a week-long celebration held in South Molton Street.

Lee Harvey, managing director, Piggotts, said: “The ‘Big Egg Hunt’ is an incredible project which we are proud to be part of. Not only is it exciting and fun for the people of London but it will also raise substantial funds for two very important charities.

“Our Creative Displays team is delighted with this new partnership and the many new and high profile contracts that we have secured recently.”

The eggs will be sold at auction to raise funds for Action for Children and Elephant Family – the UK's largest charity that raises funds for protecting the endangered Asian elephant's habitat.

Dame Clare Tickell, chief executive, Action for Children, said: “The ‘Fabergé Big Egg Hunt’ is a ground-breaking and exciting way to get London and all its visitors involved in raising awareness and crucial funds for the most vulnerable and neglected children, young people and families across the UK. It's particularly heartening to know that the money will have been raised thanks to an event which will be hugely enjoyable for the thousands of children and families who will be taking part.”
